"David Brunner's music is lyrical, fresh-sounding and always creative.  His music is a favorite with the choir as well as the audience!"

Choirs in the Cathedral

St. James Cathedral in downtown Orlando is a beautiful church with a gorgeous acoustic and many ways to use the space. We love to sing there!  Huge thanks to UCF faculty members Eladio Scharron, guitar, George Weremchuk, soprano saxophone, Jeremy Hunt, tenor, and Yun-Ling Hsu, piano, our collaborative pianist Robin Jensen and my colleague Kelly Miller for making last night's concert with the University of Central Florida's choirs such a memorable one. A beautiful evening!

Sarasota Young Voices

It was just over a week ago that I was in Sarasota to work with Geneviéve Beauchamp's talented Sarasota Young Voices on my SIR CHRISTEMAS and JUBILATE DEO.  I remember their brilliant performance of last year at the state ACDA conference and looked forward to hearing them in person.  Just as charming, bright and eager.  Brava to Geneviéve and assistant director Kari Hamada (a former student of mine)!

OPO's Big Beethoven 9

The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra began its 25th anniversary season the weekend of September 30th with the Big Beethoven 9th symphony.  It was a quick learn for singers from our University and Women's Choruses, in class just four weeks.  Well not exactly...  Hurricane Irma shortened the rehearsal time to fewer rehearsals that we ever could have imagined.  Everyone embraced the challenge, however, and the result was big and bold.  Big thanks to master collaborative pianist Robin Jensen, my colleague Kelly Miller, and maestro Eric Jacobsen!
